At ISRIC, Jelle supports various projects, including INNOVAR and DeSIRA.

Jelle has experience in soil and water quality and a basic knowledge of QGIS and ODK. He contributed to building an ODK-based application for Soil Description DevTool.

Jelle graduated from Wageningen University with a master's degree in Earth and Environment, specializing in the biology and chemistry of soil and water. Part of his thesis's research data has been used in the article 'Carbonate Adsorption to Ferrihydrite: Competitive Interaction with Phosphate for Use in Soil Systems' by Juan C. Mendez and Tjisse Hiemstra.
