Soil information systems workshop in Ghana
On 8-9 October 2024, CABI, ISRIC — World Soil Information and Ghana’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research – Soil Research Institute (CSIR-SRI) held a 2-day soil information systems workshop at the Capital View Hotel, Koforidua, Ghana. The workshop brought together the key stakeholders who can help strengthen the soil information system in Ghana (GhaSIS), including policymakers, soil information producers and data users. Funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and ISRIC, this event is part of the CABI-led SIS Review project.
At the workshop, the project teams presented the Soil Information Systems framework, which has been developed by CABI and ISRIC, and facilitated group discussions to support CSIR-SRI in the development of a roadmap for the strengthening of GhaSIS.
CABI interviewed key stakeholders at the workshop to gauge their views on the key takeaways from the event and what the next steps are to strengthening GhaSIS
