Technical Paper 29 Relation between the soil units of the FAO-UNESCO soil map of the world legend and the soil classes used in Brazilian surveys
This paper presents a correlation between the soil units of the Revised Legend of the FAO-Unesco Soil Map of he World (FAO Legend) and the classes used in Brazilian surveys, with special attention to discrepancies and incompatibilities between the systems and weaknesses that may be considered for future revisions. This paper also compares horizon definitions and analytical methods used or recommended by the two systems. Where possible, a reference to at least one description of each the Soil Units identified in Brazil is provided.
