Natural science collections provide a special resource for understanding the world around us. On April 21, head of ISRIC – World Soil Information’s World Soil Museum Stephan Mantel is giving a online lecture at Iowa State University (United States) about this topic, specifically the value of the soil collections.

The lecture is part of Iowa State University's soil science symposium. Stephan will share the value of ISRIC's World Soil Reference Collection as a reference for research and explain how it provides a basis for education through the World Soil Museum. He will discuss the role of education and advocacy on soils in museums and highlight the importance of soil collections.

The talk is titled “The role and value of soil museums in advocacy and education” and is open to the public. Given that the seminar is hosted in the United States, it is at 23:10 Central European Time / 16:10 Central US Time.

UPDATE: Watch the full talk below or on the Iowa State University Agronomy YouTube channel.
