From 29 September to 1 October 2026, partners of the EU-funded SoilWise-HE project gathered at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, for the project's third and last annual meeting.

The SoilWise-HE project aims to make Europe's scattered and diverse soil information and knowledge more accessible, usable and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable). This will make it much easier to exchange soil information across Europe, supporting better soil management and informed decision-making in the region.

The three-day event provided an opportunity to review progress, strengthen collaboration and agree on priorities as SoilWise-HE enters its final year.

SoilWise participants discussing the rolling plan aimed to track changes in technology for the project.

Building on progress made over the past year, partners discussed the further development and integration of SoilWise-HE components, including the SoilWise-HE Catalogue, and its connection with the European Union Soil Observatory (EUSO). Interactive sessions focused on addressing technical challenges, strengthening coordination between project teams, advancing SoilWise-HE’s objectives and maximising the value and reach of its results.

With a shared vision and clear priorities for the year ahead, the consortium left Brno with renewed momentum to contribute to making European soil information and knowledge more accessible and reusable.
