Technical Paper 27 A global data set of soil pH properties
A standardized global data set of soil pH (H2O) properties is presented. It has been compiled using the digital database developed for the "World Inventory of Soil Emission Potentials"(WISE) project. Median pH (H2O) and extremes have been computed for both the topsoil (0-30 cm) and subsoil (30- 100 cm) of all the 106 second level soil units considered in the original version of the FAO legend. The sstudy is based on the 4,353 soil profiles currently held in the WISE profile database, corresponding with a total of 20,995 horizons.
