Senior soil scientist provides lecture on compiling Nigerian soil profile database

On October 13, 2021, ISRIC – World Soil Information senior soil scientist Johan Leenaars delivered a guest lecture to the Soil Science Society of Nigeria and the Nigeria Institute of Soil Science on the topic: “Compiling a Nigerian Soil Profiles database for agricultural development.”

This lecture was part of an ongoing partnership agreement between ISRIC and Nigeria Institute of Soil Science. Under the partnership, both institutes seek to strengthen and sustain a long term partnership in resource sharing and complementing each other’s advantages on soil information and sustainable land management. We aim to cultivate an active community of practice on soil information workflows and development of soil information propositions together with impact funders such as soil fertility advice or land degradation assessment.
