Bhutanese delegation visits ISRIC

3 February 2016, a high-level Bhutanese delegation including the State Secretary of Agriculture has been visiting WUR, and ISRIC.
Background to their visit is the country’s ambitious aim to become 100% organic by 2020.
Presentations were given an during the following discussions the State Secretary welcomed efforts towards producing a national soil map of Bhutan. All Bhutanese partners appeared rather enthusiastic about a potential GreenWaterCredits project. Maybe no surprise when considering that hydropower exports provide more than 40% of Bhutan’s revenues. The visit of the Bhutanese delegation was completed with a guided tour through the World Soil Museum.
