Short description: Thanks to the Sweave package, LaTeX and R code can be combined in one document. If programmed correctly, the code will automatically run all analysis, produce plots and tables and format them into a professional document (following some pre-defined style). Such system is basis of what is called “Reproducible research” - fully documented and reproducible research analysis and reporting. The objective of this course is to train participants to use LaTeX in combination with R to produce such reproducible documents.
Target audience: MSc and PhD level students with some basic programming skills.
Requirements: Knowledge requirements:
  • R programming (basic)
  • LaTeX (basic)
  1. Installation of software and  (1.5 hrs)
  2. Combining LaTeX and R code - Sweave (1.5 hrs)
  3. Exercise: writing a small report on data analysis (1.5 hrs)
  4. Exercises: inserting plots and tables (1.5 hrs)
