Soil and Terrain database (SOTER) for Argentina

The Soil and Terrain database (SOTER) for Argentina, at scale 1:1 M, was derived from the SOTER database for Latin America and the Caribbean (SOTERLAC, 1:5 M) in the framework of the Land Degradation Assessment in Drylands (LADA, GLADA).

The database was compiled using the SOTER methodology; the initial SOTERLAC dataset for Argentina has been improved and extended using the 90 m digital elevation model (DEM) derived from Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) as well as the soil map of Argentina (INTA) at scale 1:1 M.
