The council of the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA) has accepted ISRIC as Alliance Partner. The GRA brings governments, research institutions and other organisations together to find ways to grow more food (and more climate-resilient food systems) without growing greenhouse gas emissions. The partnerships aims to maximise efficiency of the global research effort and to amplify opportunities for alignment, innovation & investment.

On 11th October, Hayden Montgomery, Special Representative to the GRA accompanied by Sjoerd Croqué of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs visited ISRIC to discuss possible collaboration in the context of the GRA. Areas of common interest are soil information systems (within the framework of the Global Soil Partnership), the GRA flagship on Soil Carbon Sequestration, the H2020 CIRCASA project and the possible hosting of PhD students from the GRA scholarship programme.
