QGIS/ArcGIS interface to WOSIS

Title QGIS/ArcGIS interface to WOSIS
Description WOSIS is a soil database containing spatial records that can be accessed using standard database connections from GIS (Geographic Information System) software such as ArcGIS or QGIS. Connecting, searching and integrating data into a GIS can be complicated for non experts, and software plugins facilitate such operations. Quantum GIS (QGIS) is a user friendly Open Source GIS that runs on Windows, Linux, OSX and it has a broad community of users. This software is written in C++ and supports the development of plugins. QGIS/ArcGIS allows for plugin development using Python. During the internship the student would develop a plugin to facilitate data download and upload to and from WOSIS. The plugin would then be distributed on the ISRIC website.
