Development of WorldGrids.org data portal

Title Development of WorldGrids.org data portal
Description WorldGrids.org is a data portal for hosting and serving global environmental layers at 1 (2.5, 5 and 20) km. Young researchers (especially at PhD and post-doc level) with strong background in GIS and remote sensing (with focus on MODIS and meteorological products) are encouraged to join the WorldGrids.org development team and contribute to the data portal both in terms of content (new gridded layers), documentation (data sources reviews) and functionality (PyWPS). A heavy-task computing and large screen would be provided that can handle large grids and can be put to compute with large data. Upon completing the internship the guest researcher will be listed as one of the authors of the data portal and is expected to continue maintaining various parts of WorldGrids.org (portal editor).
