Who is it for?

The World Soil Museum is a key asset of ISRIC and unique in the world. It has a scientific and educational value and has also a role to show the use and aesthetics of soils to a more general public. The World Soil Museum shows the wide range of soils in the world with their different properties and land-use and management requirements.
  
Visitors to the Museum include:

  • primary school children
  • secondary and high school students
  • university students in the natural resources sciences, including agriculture, biology, ecology, environment, forestry, geography and soil science
  • researchers and managers from national and international organisations
  • specialised study groups
  • general public

The Museum is an important component of our tailor-made educational programmes, that can vary in duration from one-hour to one week, on topics like: soils of the tropics, soil survey and classification, soil degradation and soil conservation, and soil fertility management.
