SOTER data

Soil and Terrain (SOTER)  databases consist of a geometric component and an attribute database. Primary SOTER databases are developed using a uniform methodology (download SOTER methodology,  input software and software manual).   Standardized procedures were used to fill gaps in the measured (primary) soil analytical data, resulting in consistent secondary SOTER (SOTWIS) datasets; these can be used for a wide range of applications.

Continental scale:

► Primary SOTER databases:
     Latin America and the Caribbean, version 2.0  (scale 1:5 million)  
     Central and Eastern Europe  (scale 1:2.5 million)
     Southern Africa  (scale 1:2 million)
     Central Africa (scale 1:2 million)

► Secondary SOTER databases (SOTWIS):
     SOTER-based soil parameter estimates for Southern Africa (scale 1:2 million)  
     SOTER-based soil parameter estimates for Central Africa (scale 1:2 million)
     SOTER-based soil parameter estimates for Latin America and the Caribbean (scale 1:5 million) 
     SOTER-based soil parameter estimates for Central and Eastern Europe (scale 1:2.5 million)
     Harmonized, continental scale, SOTER-derived database (5 by 5 arcminutes grid)
