Main contributors to WISE

Main contributors of profile data and expertise to the WISE database (1991-1996), were the USDA Soil Conservation Service (SCS-NRCS), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Soil Reference and Information Centre (ISRIC), as well as wide range of national soil survey organizations. Spatial data for WISE, at a resolution of 0.5 x 0.5 degrees, were derived from the 1:5 000 000 scale Soil Map of the World by the (former) AGLS Division at FAO.
