Dr Alfred Hartemink – Education

Alfred joined ISRIC in 1999 and has worked in East Africa, Asia and the Pacific. He has wide experience of soil research and management in tropical countries, focusing on soil nutrient dynamics, nutrient depletion and the sustainability of agro-ecosystems. He edits primary international journals and is Deputy Secretary General of the International Union of Soil Sciences. His current research thrust is the integrated management of soil fertility in the tropics.
